Cole's pumpkin that Jeff carved...

The final products!

Last year Joyce started the fun tradition of a big pumpkin carving night. Well this year her house is under construction so we had it at our house. We ate chili and cornbread and had lots of treats. Then we started the carving portion of the night. We were going to do one per family and have a contest, but all the kids wanted their own. we had a lot of variety in designs...from hearts and stars to skeleton pirates. The highlight was when Joe had enough of the traditional way of carving, and busted out the saw. All in all it was a very fun night with family.

Okay, this sounds like a clone of our Cavalieri family party. We have been doing it for years. We eat chili and cornbread, and carve pumpkins. It can get pretty ugly with all the trash talk. But it is our funnest party of the year!
